Dr Hamish Currie

Dr Hamish Currie obtained his BVSc from Onderstepoort in 1984 following which he did his national services with the State Vet in Kwazulu Natal. He has an interest in small animal surgery. His empathy and years of experience gives him the ability to discern the needs of both owners and their pets, and give balanced advice in difficult situations. His menagerie of pets includes two Rottweilers, a Jack Russell and a thoroughly spoilt long haired Dachshund. Hamish loves escaping to the bush and has a passion for wildlife.

Dr Rosemary Dallas

Dr Rosemary Dallas graduated from Onderstepoort with a BVSc in 2003. She moved to the Cape and started working at a satellite branch of the Alphen Veterinary Hospital before moving over to the main practice in 2007. Rosemary has a particular interest in small animal medicine, and has a passion for cats. She has a gentle and compassionate touch. Her household of pets consists of three cats- who consider themselves well cared for by their staff- and two dogs. Rose and her husband Dave have recently become parents to a beautiful baby girl, Emily.

Dr Russell Leadsom

Dr Russell Leadsom graduated in the UK and gained many years experience there before moving to Southern Africa. He holds a Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons’ certificate in Cardiology and has worked closely with Alphen Vet for many years. He is one of the most experienced Veterinary Cardiologists in the country and is available for referral consultations at Alphen Vet. Our facilities allow for a full cardiac evaluation to be done. Dr Leadsom works on an appointment basis.
